A number of years ago I had entered the public practice of Christian Science and was frequently afraid I wasn't going to be able to pay the family bills. We had no savings; one child was in grade school and one was entering junior high; we had a mortgage, food and utility expenses, and several thousand dollars of debt incurred prior to my going into the practice.
So often, as parents, we feel we know what is best for our children to do when they face decisions or challenges in their lives. We want to protect them and shield them from pitfalls.
What an incredible example of progressive living is found in the life of our Master, Christ Jesus. What immense joy and promise he must have brought to those he healed.
How can we help those in distress? How can we improve human welfare? In most cases what is needed is more spiritual love and compassion for others. Our love may take the simplest form, for example, in a sincere hug.

All the mortal thinking and striving on this earth is based on a finite conception of man's being and destiny. Predominantly, people tend to occupy themselves with things that have a beginning and an end.
