"Where thieves do not break through"

From the April 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Sometimes we are too inclined to accept an incomplete sense of what we are. Loneliness, discordant memories, waves of fear, feelings of inadequacy, may break in upon our thinking and rob us of the normal dominion that is our birthright as sons and daughters of God.

How can we protect our lives from such disruptive suggestions?

Christ Jesus pointed out the way. In his Sermon on the Mount, he urged us, "Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal." A little later he said, "Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Matt. 6:20, 24.
