Annual Meeting 1986

The 1986 Annual Meeting, under the theme "Fulfilling our mission of Christ-healing," will convene at 2 p. m.

Expressing gratitude for Christian Science healing in the ways provided by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, is an important aspect of our own healings.

Time remains for students of Christian Science to recommend new texts and tunes for the English-language edition of the Christian Science Hymnal. Between now and the first of October, the date for receiving this material, we fully expect the modest, but promising, early response to swell to an abundant supply of ideas for the coming edition.

The librarian of the Reading Room in Madison, Indiana, received a call at home from a woman who said she wanted to know more about spirituality and it had come to her that Christian Science was what could help her. The women met at the Reading Room, and the librarian was glad to have a copy of the September 2, 1985, Christian Science Sentinel to give to the other woman.

Is good evolving materially?

The material world tells us constantly that both good and evil are evolving from matter and that through human knowledge we will eventually shackle the evil and allow the good to thrive unopposed. When things are going well we might lose sight of the fact that there is a true, spiritual sense of good and accept the erroneous notion that "material" good has the upper hand, and if left alone by any malicious evil this apparent good will continue to evolve in progressive ways as if it were infinite.

"Siege mentality" or scientific defense?

A short time ago two Christian Scientists who care deeply about the Christian Science movement were talking about the challenges it is now facing. One of them commented on how a number of fellow church members had observed that in recent months especially they had felt "besieged" by error.

Man remains perfect

From a human standpoint man's condition frequently seems to change— from joy to sorrow, from strength to weakness, from contentment to frustration. For many, health or well-being appears to be in a state of flux, and much effort is expended in an attempt to recapture and stabilize this highly desirable quality.

Unfoldment—the law of your being

It is the very nature of pure Love to express itself. Boundless Love naturally unfolds, without limit, the wonders of Love's immeasurable resources of good.

Blessing Sunday School with Christly love and vision

Christ Jesus' love for little children was apparent in many ways. Once, when Jesus' disciples rebuked those bringing young children to him for blessing, he replied, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
