Is our concept of church declining or expanding?

You say your branch church membership is declining? What a good opportunity to awaken thought to a higher concept of God's Church—the Church that can never decline! Insofar as a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, embodies the spiritual definition of Church given in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, it can never decline or break up or be dismissed, for it is demonstrating the ever-present power of Christ, Truth.

Health versus sense testimony

Man is always whole and healthy! Why? Because he is actually the spiritual image and likeness of God. Anything contradicting this truth is only an illusion of material sense.

A healing trinity

Paul certainly understood God's message in terms of His unfailing grace. As a result, he took "pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Dialogue of two women

One Easter Sunday morning, the day after my annual Christian Science Students Association meeting, I was seated at a restaurant counter in a large city, having breakfast before going to church. Because my thought was uplifted by all I had heard the day before, by the anticipation of the church service, and by a book on Christian Science that I was reading, I hardly noticed the woman taking the stool beside me until she began to talk.

Six approaches to prayer

A major purpose of Christian Science is to enable any individual to pray to God in the way that Christ Jesus did and taught us to do, and to bring out the results he promised—healing sickness and destroying sin and its effects. Prayer is most often thought of as a private communication between an individual and God: a humble recognition of His power and presence, a desire to be lifted out of limiting human circumstances, and a commitment to better understand and obey His law.
