In general usage intolerance has come to mean unreasoning and insufferable bigotry, unwillingness to tolerate the opinions of others. As such, the term "intolerant" is a label which, once attached to an individual, sticks like tar.

Annual Meeting this year is being planned to speak specifically to the needs and opportunities of all members of The Mother Church. Its purpose and that of related sessions will be: "To enlarge our vision of what Christian Science is, to get a clearer concept of its mission, and to understand what we must do to fulfill it.

The apostles' ministry in Derbe appears to have been free from persecution, and it must have provided welcome relief from the many dangers and trials they had recently experienced. The quality of the church we attend is determined by what we accept in consciousness. Since our consciousness is our experience and there is nothing external to thought, we can only experience what we hold in thought.

On July 28, 1908, the farsighted and wide-awake Leader of the Christian Science movement, Mary Baker Eddy, sent a handwritten message to The Christian Science Board of Directors, which read in part: "I request The C. S.
