In many instances of deviation in an adult, it may appear that there was some imbalance in his thinking when he was a child, perhaps as a result of his disillusionment with one of his human parents or because he grew up in a lopsided, broken home. In attempting to overcome the bad effects of this imbalance some have used human techniques to compensate for the masculine or the feminine attributes that have seemed to be missing from the home.
