Jesus was about to leave his followers. They needed much direction and protection.

In picturesque imagery the Old Testament uses the vine to symbolize Israel. In its worship of the one God, Israel stood alone among the nations.

Although Brussels is primarily a French and Flemish speaking area, its being the scat of the European Common Market gives it a decidedly international atmosphere. Since Belgium is also the headquarters of NATO and Euratom, this adds to the international traffic in the capital city.

"The Book of the Prophet Isaiah," as it is termed in the Bible, is of the deepest interest and significance. Most scholars now contend that it deals with a wide segment of the history' and spiritual progress of the Hebrew people over some three eventful centuries.

Whatever our destination on any trip, routine or eventful, our consciousness determines how we get to it and what we gain by reaching it. Realizing our true unity with divine Mind and desiring to be obedient to God's will, we shall be joyous and poised.

We need never doubt the ability to see and know good, the ability to demonstrate God-given dominion over the limiting beliefs of the carnal mind, or materiality. If our first steps in rising above material beliefs seem faltering and slow, we may recall the experience of Peter as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew.

In many instances of deviation in an adult, it may appear that there was some imbalance in his thinking when he was a child, perhaps as a result of his disillusionment with one of his human parents or because he grew up in a lopsided, broken home. In attempting to overcome the bad effects of this imbalance some have used human techniques to compensate for the masculine or the feminine attributes that have seemed to be missing from the home.

God's promises to heal every form of malady, as well as sin, are numerous in the Bible. They may be found in many of the books from Genesis to Revelation.

There are probably very few human beings who do not have a yearning for good. People wish to achieve what they believe to be good.

A stone cannot act because it does not think. But a human being is a thinker, and the nature of his thinking determines the nature of his activity.
