Handling Aggressive Mental Suggestion

In the Manual of The Mother Church Mrs. Eddy has specified a number of daily duties. One such duty reads: "It shall be the duty of every member of this Church to defend himself daily against aggressive mental suggestion, and not be made to forget nor to neglect his duty to God, to his Leader, and to mankind. By his works he shall be judged,—and justified or condemned."Man., Art. VIII, Sect. 6;

A dictionary definition of "defend" is "to maintain against force or argument." Aggressive mental suggestion is a delusive mental activity that may present itself as a seeming force with power to persuade or convince, or it may present itself as our own thoughts arguing.
