At the world's fair in Montreal, Canada, two of the most popular exhibits were Man and His Health and the Christian Pavilion. Both dealt with mankind in a complex, changing world where sickness and health, poverty and wealth, exist side by side. Both exhibits pointed out that traditional methods and ways of thinking are often no longer applicable, no longer capable of giving one the stability, security, and protection one desires.
Indeed people are searching for reliable ways to attain health and peace, but too often they fail to find permanent satisfaction. Yet "the Comforter . . . even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father," John 15:26; is as present today to heal every discord, chronic or acute, as it was centuries ago when it animated Jesus and the prophets.
"In the desolation of human understanding, divine Love hears and answers the human call for help; and the voice of Truth utters the divine verities of being which deliver mortals out of the depths of ignorance and vice,"Mis., p. 81; notes Mrs. Eddy in Miscellaneous Writings. Through the guidance of divine Mind, or God, she herself was led to the discovery and documentation of the divine Science that lay behind Christ Jesus' words and works, restoring God's healing power to mankind.
