Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

Wingspread

Once an eagle was observed soaring high in the sky while a violent mountain storm approached. The observer wondered what the great bird would do when the angry winds struck him.

What Is Christian Science Treatment?

Students of Christian Science are often asked what Christian Science treatment is. The need to define this method of healing is felt not only by the inquirer but by those who would practice it in their own lives.

Love—The Art of Communicating

Governments and business communities are spending millions of work hours and dollars attempting to teach executives and employees the art of communicating. Techniques of all sorts have been evolved, yet the gaping want persists.

Mission accomplished

When a casual inquirer asks, "What do Christian Scientists believe?" he's not ordinarily looking for a systematic exposition of Mrs. Eddy's teachings any more than a Christian Scientist asking a Lutheran about his religion would expect a detailed analysis of Luther's Ninety-five Theses! A growing number of Christian Scientists are learning how to answer inquiries about their religion in ways that produce insight rather than argument; they are learning to communicate with rather than preach at.

Reaching the Receptive Heart

All whose gratitude for Christian Science has led them to join The Mother Church and a branch church are aware of their joyful responsibility to preach the gospel, to share our "pearl of great price" Matt. 13:46; with the community.

Scientific Prayer

People are daily engaged in finding solutions. To reach correct and satisfactory conclusions, whether we are working out simple problems of choice or more complicated ones of business, social welfare, or health, our reasoning must be based on right premises.

The name Easter is derived from that of the Teutonic goddess Eastre, whose festival was celebrated in the spring. Eggs have long been used as symbols of the renewal of life so wonderfully evident at this time of year in much of the world.

Dominion Through Right Thinking

Much is heard today concerning the power of positive thinking. As the phrase is used in common parlance, the power inherent in positive human thinking refers to the comfort afforded by unworried thought and the tendency to bodily health associated with the avoidance of negative concepts.

A Continuing Line of Thought

At Easter time thought turns with reverent gratitude to the contemplation of the greatest triumph the world has seen, when God's witness, Christ Jesus, overcame death and vanquished it in the glory of the resurrection. Easter is also a time of gladness and rejoicing because through the teachings of Christian Science we learn that the resurrection is a state of consciousness all may attain by yielding up material beliefs and by spiritualizing thought and life.

Our Abilities Are of God

Are we tempted to think of ourselves as clever human beings, efficient organizers, or as especially accomplished in some particular activity? A belief in personal abilities or the belief that man is a source of ability could be likened to one of "the kingdoms of the world" Matt. 4:8; that Satan paraded before the Master, Christ Jesus, during his temptation in the wilderness.
