First Church of Christ, Scientist, Sydney, Australia THE study of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, began in Sydney about the year 1896, when a few copies of this book were obtained in various ways by people quite unknown to one another; but as they studied eagerly and put into practise what they learned, the healing effect of this revelation of Truth and Love became noticeable in many ways.

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Johannesburg, Transvaal Like many other of the branches of the Church of Christ, Scientist, this dates its inception from a service held in a private dwelling house. On the 21st of August, 1904, a little knot of six truth seekers gathered in Prince's street, Troyeville, a suburb of the South African "Golden City," and for six months after held regular services there.

The patient, imbued with a desire to comprehend the spiritual meaning of the truth which had wrought such wonderful healing, at once began the study of Christian Science, and soon was joined by others.

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Berlin, Germany THE early history of this church has quite an interesting feature. Christian Science had come to a foreign country with a foreign language, but the healing power of the new interpretation of the gospel of Love prepared the way and proved that Truth knows only one country and one language.

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Detroit, Mich. In February, 1885, Christian Science was brought to Detroit, and at the time of its introduction three of the leading daily papers published interviews and commented favorably upon some of the healing done in the city.
