Christian Science reveals spiritual concepts, defines them accurately, and demonstrates them scientifically. One such concept is Christ.
Perhaps no question has been more eagerly asked and less satisfactorily answered than the one that serves as the title of this editorial. The difficulty lies in the fact that the question asserts and impliedly assumes the reality of something that is not real, something that appears to be real only to a false sense of things.

Ideas , like rays of light, need to be brought into focus at a certain point in order that they may provide enlightenment. Christian Science does this with precision and thus makes the light of Christ, Truth, intelligently available to all.
Spirit , God, is omnipresent. In Spirit there is no matter or mortal mind and hence no laws of limitation.
Physical force, being neither intelligent nor moral, has no control over its own use and so is subject within certain limits to the will of men. Spiritual thinking, on the contrary, thinking based on the allness of Spirit, embodies divine intelligence and so expresses the divine will.
Christ Jesus opened his Galilean ministry with these stirring words: "The kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel" ( Mark 1:15 ). A new realm, the kingdom of heaven, at the door of mankind! Here, unseen to the physical senses, beyond the material and mortal, the evil and destructive, is a kingdom of light, order, and harmony.
CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS are the beneficiaries of a heritage, a living heritage, perpetual, irrevocable. It is the heritage of the reborn, those "born of water and of the Spirit" ( John 3 ).
THE mature student of Christian Science does not fear animal magnetism or evil; neither does he ignore it or personalize it, that is, give it identity. This Science teaches him how to strip error of its covering and to destroy it through the application of the power of Christ, Truth, God's infinite idea.
Through the sheer might of unfolding good, Mind asserts its presence, its government, its law, its allness—eternally and universally. Patriarchs and prophets heard the voice of God, and the Scriptures record His glorious statements.
