Spiritual reasoning leads every clear thinker to the realization that above and entirely apart from the clashing opinions and mental picture presented by the material senses, the law and will of God, divine Principle, is maintaining every detail of true being in harmony and order. The study of Christian Science awakens one to the perception of this unassailable fact.

Christ Jesus knew God to be Spirit, the one Father or cause of all, and this understanding empowered him to prove that man, the effect of Spirit, is spiritual and consequently sinless, diseaseless, deathless. As the Way-shower, he fully demonstrated his own sonship with God, and the fleshly Jesus, the Son of man, disappeared.

The basis of being is Spirit, not matter. The basis of pure intelligence is Mind, not brain.

The nature of the characters portrayed, the interplay of their moods, actions, and experiences, and the development of the plot resulting therefrom—all are included in the tale and unfold to one as he reads it.

AT this moment of the world's history Christian Science is perhaps most significantly distinguished from other systems of thought by its unyielding emphasis upon the indestructibility of individuality, expressing Life, or God. The indestructibility of individuality is a Christian concept, but this concept requires spiritual understanding, as taught in Christian Science, to comprehend its demonstrable meaning.

It has been truly said that the design of wisdom may be found in all events. Whatever the human circumstance may be, there is no justification for a Christian Scientist to believe that things are working against him.

Christian love is synonymous with that which expresses power, that which has the ability and the intelligence to exist unharmed, without fear of any supposed attack upon its existence. Does anyone believe that an individual or a nation practicing Christian love is at a disadvantage when coming in contact with an individual or a nation not practicing it? Surely there is nothing in the teachings of Christ Jesus to support the view that a Christian surrenders all weapons and serves his God at the price of remaining off guard against unscrupulous and malicious evil.
