Inspirational verse submitted by readers.

"Peace, be still"

Be quiet, earth, and rest; be tranquil, still. Bow down, dissension, strife, hostility; Cease, mortal sense, to dream iniquity; Let all creation know God's holy will.

"What things?"

Jerusalem , that night, lay still and sober. enveloped in a heavy veil of gloom.

Equilibrium

I would not lag content in dreams of sense. Nor mount too swift on lettered wing, And failing, fall, But steadfast dwell in Mind's calm sheltering— Safe in the power of omnipotence, Love round about, above, below.

The Clearer Sight

Down with my pity! I will see but God. Loss cannot overtake my friend.

In God's Estate

No mortal height nor depth in God's estate— The tallest mountains there have been brought low, The deepest valleys raised to form a great And fertile field, a heavenly plateau. The only heights in His estate are heights Of vision, limitless expanse of seeing; No painful climbs, no hazardous down flights, The only depths are there the depths of being.

"Ye are the light of the world"

Man is no dreamer, waiting for the dawn, Slow twilight or sudden uprush of the sun. Man is forever the individual radiance Of God, the Father of lights, the unsleeping One.

"Free from the law of sin and death"

There is no law of sin That can obtain within Love's law of purity; It cannot fetter man With chains of lust, nor can It cleave the unity Of God and man, for each Of us is loved. No breach In Truth can ever be.

Craftsmanship

Lord , fit me to Thy dextrous, shaping hand As a keen-tempered—as a well-wrought tool; As a well-balanced sickle, as a plane; As a straight-edged and calibrated rule. Buff me and smooth me—burnish me that I May be a polished shuttle for Thy weft.

The Answer

" No time to spend in praying," you protest, As unsolved problems tempt you to despair. Yet Truth's reply is firm: "That man is blest Who spends time not in protest, but in prayer!".

When Angels Come

When angels come we do not hear Wings fluttering; no forms appear To human vision. But we know Their presence in the heart's warm glow, In spiritual strength, in Truth made clear.
