"Father, I thank thee"

I cannot see .

A Mountain Apart

It came to pass that Peter, James, and John Went up into the mount with Jesus, and He was transfigured suddenly and on His raiment fell a glistering flame. Light spanned The holy mountain: in that glorious hour Both Moses and Elias came.

Light

God bathes the universe in light, The greater light to rule the day, The lesser light to rule the night, Illuminating all the way: The day of joyous demonstration, The night of quiet consecration. And nightmare dreams of life pass on Into their own oblivion, For never was a pathway trod But designated by our God.

The Way

There was no answer to my cry, For men were powerless to aid; The senses bound me with a lie, And I was helpless and afraid. The human intellect was vain; God's truth alone could bring release; In childlike faith I turned again To Him and found abiding peace.

Small Things

Does some Goliath of sin, disease, or death Aggressive stand, full armed in coat of mail? A shepherd boy who knew no power but God Slung one small stone and saw Truth's law prevail. Did Jesus think supplies at hand too slight To satisfy the vast and hungry throng? While thanking God for true, exhaustless love, He met their needs and filled their hearts with song.

The Father in Secret

He stills all clamor And unveils the sanctuary. In it are no sorrows, No ills, nor aggression, But the still, small voice Speaking sweetly and softly Of God and His love For His precious children.

Come into the Ark

" Come into the ark," decreed the inward voice, And Noah made irrevocable choice Between the crumbling earth and swelling sea, A sodden grave and immortality. The ark of Noah floated upon the wave— And always the hand of God was near to save.

Prayer for Humility

May I be truly humble, Father. This above all my prayer, Nor let inordinate ambition rule, but rather May I achieve fulfillment where Only Thy precepts guide.

Acceptance

Accepting good is such a simple thing, And yet how long and stubbornly we cling To mortal thoughts and human reasoning. "But it has always been like that," we say, Forgetting that there is a better way As yet untried or toyed with timidly.

"My Father's business"

When busily engaged in speaking words of Truth And occupied with loving thoughts which heal and bless, I find a day completely filled with joyous deeds Unfolds continuously within my consciousness.
