Testimonies of Healing

It is now five years since the glorious truth of Christian Science came to set me free from what seemed a miserable reality, a life crippled by sickness and feeble health. I was considered delicate from a child, subject to all the ills that attack children, the house never without medicine, which seemed so necessary to our comfort and health.

It is with deep gratitude to God that I try to tell at least something of the blessing that Christian Science has been to me for more than five years. In June, 1898, I had been suffering for some weeks from anæmia, and from lameness caused by water on the knees.

Five years ago Christian Science was brought to my attention practically and forcibly through the healing of a friend. My wife had been ill for nearly four years, under the care of physicians and various systems of healing, but with no permanent benefit.

Thirteen years ago my wife and I were healed by Christian Science of a number of so-called diseases which were pronounced utterly incurable by the physicians in New York State. I was born in a hotel, and when I got married I started a hotel for myself.

Impelled by a deep sense of loving gratitude and thankfulness for the knowledge gained through Christian Science, I hereby give my testimony to its healing power. Since early childhood I have always had a discharge from the ears, and as I grew up I was troubled every now and then with a tingling sensation in both of them.

I Have often thought, How can I best express my gratitude to our beloved Leader for the priceless gift of Christian Science? I now know I can best show her my appreciation of this great truth by the daily practice of its teachings. I am young in Christian Science, having come to this well of pure water about two years ago, in search of health.

As far back as I can remember I was afflicted with neuralgia of the head, which I thought at first was caused by my teeth. I had treatment from seven dentists without receiving any benefit.

Nearly five years ago Christian Science was suggested to me by a lady who, though not a Scientist, had known of its healing. I had been for seventeen years a sufferer from stomach trouble.

Eight years ago I was discouraged and in despair, for within three months previous two of our children had died, and the other three were ailing. Doctors and nurses came daily and numerous medicine bottles made our home resemble a hospital.

I First came to Christian Science for help in February, 1902. For some time I had been troubled with lumbago, and cramps in my legs, feet, and hands.
