Testimonies of Healing

In the spring of 2019 my husband passed on. This was rather sudden, and it marked the beginning of a very significant lesson and healing for me over nearly three years.

Sitting stiffly on the edge of my couch, I was praying to find relief from intense internal pain. But as the night progressed, the problem worsened.

By the time our son was about a year old, he occasionally exhibited troubling behavior. After falling asleep in his crib at night, he would wildly cry out.

A few years ago, I had a painful condition in the upper part of my mouth. At first, I thought it might be an allergic reaction.

One fine midmorning not too long ago, I sat down on the couch to enjoy some quiet time before lunch. As I was resting there, I watched a bee enter my room through the small gap at the bottom of the door.

Some years ago a growth appeared on my abdomen. I didn’t pay any attention to it until it became inflamed and painful.

When I was in college and came home for Christmas break, one Sunday morning I decided to make some tea. Our family had just moved to a new house and the kitchen was unfamiliar to me.

The isolation of the lockdown imposed upon us during the recent pandemic was a blessing for me. It gave me time alone, away from the unwelcome stress I experienced when going to work, or even to the grocery store.

Several years ago, I awoke on a Monday morning with discomfort in my back. Both lying down and sitting up were very uncomfortable.

As a child I went to Sunday School, so the teachings of Christian Science were always very familiar to me. As a young adult I considered myself a Christian Scientist, even if I wasn’t very active in practicing it.
