Testimonies of Healing
When I was a new student of Christian Science, I had an experience that showed me unmistakably how this Science affects our human condition by bringing about a change of thought. I had applied to several colleges, including one that I especially wanted to go to, which was for students of Christian Science.
In the summer of 1994 I had a serious fall from my bicycle that rendered me briefly unconscious. I was wearing a bicycle helmet, and I came to with my husband watching over me.
I was a few weeks into a new teaching post when I lost movement in my left arm, the arm I use to write with. On the face of it, the picture was bleak.

Through steadfast reliance on the Science of Christianity, I have seen again and again that God "is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think" ( Eph. 3:20 ).
When I was a young girl I attended a Christian Science Sunday School for five years. I had no desire to join the church, however, until years later when I found myself in deep waters.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science. I have had numerous healings— of illnesses; aback injury; school, teaching, and employment challenges; and many more.
One of my most cherished healings was of a nervous breakdown that occurred after my second child was born—forty years ago. It seemed to require many weeks of study, perseverance, trust, and adherence to God's guidance, as well as treatment from a dedicated Christian Science practitioner.
I am grateful to Christian Science for the many blessings our family has received over the years. A deeper sense of God's presence has done away with bickering between family members.
