Testimonies of Healing

When I was in high school my older brother married a Christian Scientist. At the time, that didn't mean anything to me.

As a child I was very fearful of devils and ghosts, which were often discussed as something real and capable of disrupting people's lives. "Who has power in this world?" I asked my Sunday School teacher.

My adult years have been filled with marriage and family as well as seminary education and ordination as a minister in the denomination I joined with my husband. They have been productive years.

I am very grateful for the blessings I have received as a student of Christian Science. We have five active children, and turning to God for health, education, and daily living has met our needs year in and year out.

I'll have to admit to feeling a little disappointment once when I described a Christian Science healing to someone. He wasn't too impressed.

My husband was a vibrant, energetic, creative, successful man. He was a wonderful husband and father.

Although our vacation during the summer of 1996 was spent recovering from a near fatal auto accident, I can honestly say it was our best vacation ever. No pleasurable vacation pursuit could have equaled the four weeks my husband and I spent learning and demonstrating that Life is not in matter, either to be enjoyed or to suffer from.

At the age of fourteen I was boarding with a family of which the wife was a Christian Scientist. I later learned that she was related to my father and that my parents placed me there because she was a Christian Scientist.

One Friday last October during my usual slow run, I fell. I had slick shoes on and the pavement was wet.

One summer day about two years ago I was out with my friend. We were riding our bikes down a hill that led us to my house.
