Testimonies of Healing

With only two weeks to prepare, my daughter-in-law's sister needed my help in planning and executing her wedding reception. I was happy to do what was needed.

About six years ago, I was going through a period of great adjustment in my life. Because of personal problems, and what I perceived as church problems, I withdrew my membership from church.

A few summers ago my husband and I went on a guide-assisted backpacking trip in Alaska. In preparation for this trip I gave specific thought to preparing myself spiritually, as I wanted to be certain I had a "divine adventure," not just a good time "away from it all.

Upon waking up one morning a few years ago, I felt excruciating pain in both my hands. They were swollen, and I couldn't move them.

About a month ago, while I was riding a thoroughbred horse at a posting trot, the horse tripped and I fell onto the ground. I immediately started praying from the spiritual basis that God, divine Mind, created all and that I could not be separated from divine Mind's protection; that both the horse and I were in divine Mind's protecting care.

I am now a "snowbird. " This winter, while we were in Florida, I became extremely uncomfortable with a back problem.

" O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth" ( Ps. 96:1 ).

In 1986 a few friends and I started a Christian Science group. The services were conducted at my home.

A few years ago I started to have several physical problems that seemed to be overwhelming to me. Depression, fear, and abnormal eating habits were disrupting my life.

At the time, I was not really close to any religion. My wife, a lifelong Christian Scientist, and I were parents of an eighteen-month-old baby girl.
