Testimonies of Healing
ONCE, OVER A PERIOD of several months, I experienced severe headaches that would start aggressively, later to dull down and linger for a good portion of the day. Up until this time, I hadn't faced too many headaches in my life, certainly not with this intensity.
AFTER MY MARRIAGE ENDED about forty years ago, I developed a drinking habit that lasted more than two decades. I felt so guilty about the addiction and it got to the point where late one night I was having yet another drink, but still hadn't had dinner.
IN 1979 I HAD BEEN HOME from work for several days with what seemed like a bad cold and headache. Mostly I tried to sleep.
WHEN OUR DAUGHTER was growing up, several dentists and hygienists confidently reported that she would definitely need braces in the future. Her teeth were out of place and some had come in behind others.
ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO, I woke one morning feeling cold all over—something I'd never experienced before. As prayer in Christian Science has healed me many times, I began to pray with the truth that we are all created by God in His image and likeness.
MY HUSBAND AND I HAD talked for years about remodeling our home, but not much occurred. Last year it was supposed to get done, but I was dreading the experience because I wasn't certain our marriage would hold up under the strain.
I WAS RAISED in Christian Science, and I never minded being thought of as different because I relied on Christian Science instead of material remedies for healing. Life was good, and although I had had many healings in my life of everything from exam worry to injuries from a car accident, I'd never really been faced with something that made me feel out of control, outside the scope of God's love.
WHEN OUR MIDDLE CHILD was born, my husband and I were told by my son's pediatrician that his urinary opening was off-center and would possibly need to be corrected with surgery. Periodically, the pediatrician would mention it (my husband takes our three children for annual physical exams), but he felt that since my son was not in any discomfort or pain, the operation was not absolutely necessary.
The author learns "the absolute necessity of always taking a stand for honesty," and is saved from foreclosure.
I WAS HAVING MY TEETH cleaned while watching the animated movie "Finding Nemo" on an overhead DVD monitor, when the cleaning tool hit something in my mouth that caused me some immediate pain. The hygienist took a break while the dentist checked the X-rays.
