Testimonies of Healing

I woke up in the middle of the night with great pain in my lower back. After I called a Christian Science practitioner, who agreed to pray with me, the pain subsided right away.

I was preparing a cup of tea in my house at boarding school when I accidentally spilled boiling water all over my hand. I instinctively prayed, because ever since I was little, I had trusted prayer for physical relief.

I was headed up a mountain on a ski lift with a friend. Before we reached the top, I decided that I would wait for my friend to get off first.

I had gone to an aerobics class, and apparently pulled a muscle in my chest. At the time, I didn't feel anything.

One day I noticed a growth on the side of my head. I was surprised and concerned.

I woke up one morning with welts on my legs, feet, and hands. The next day these welts covered more of my body and began to get very irritated.

I was raised knowing both the medical method of treatment and Christian Science treatment. So when I was having trouble with one of my feet a couple of years ago, I decided to get an X-ray.

The first symptom was numbness. It happened on my way home from work.

Over the 35 years that I've been reading Science and Health, the book has made me think, and has helped me grow as a person and in my love for God. I've relied on the ideas it contains for everything in life.

Soon after the birth of my second son, I woke up in the middle of the night unable to focus my eyes or sit up in bed. I felt better the next morning, but within a matter of days, the episode repeated itself, this time in the middle of the day and with much greater intensity.
