Testimonies of Healing

Over two years ago a spot appeared on the lower part of my upper arm that turned into a sore that would bleed. I did not want to cover it, because I thought it would heal better if it was uncovered.

In the course of finding new employment after twenty years with the same company, I had a physical examination. Now, I had prayed about the fact that my true and only being acts in obedience to God's law and operates in perfect harmony with ever-operative and harmonious Mind, God.

All my life I have been sincerely and deeply grateful for the multitude of blessings that the teachings of Christian Science have brought into my experience. My writing down of some of them is long overdue.

One day, when our son was about three years old, I put him to bed for a nap and then went to my room to take a nap myself. Suddenly, I was awakened by the sound of his screams coming from outside the house.

Several years ago , I first noticed a small red patch on my temple. It didn't hurt and was hardly noticeable, so it did not stir me into prayer about it.

After he received an acknowledgment that his contribution would be used in the Sentinel, my eight-year-old son exclaimed, "Mom, why don't you send something in, too?" His enthusiasm was wonderful, and it convinced me that it was time for me to express my gratitude (in writing) for the healings my family and I have had. My husband comes from a large family, and we have frequent get-togethers.

About eleven years ago, I woke one morning feeling a pain in my breast, and when I put my hand to it I discovered a lump there. I was absolutely paralysed with fear, and I found it difficult to think clearly.

All during the week after the passing of Princess Diana, I had been feeling sad. I was surprised at how much the event had affected me.

I have had many healings through Christian Science and have given testimony to them at the Wednesday evening meeting in our branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Now I think I should tell in writing about my first two demonstrations of God's healing power, and how I happened to be introduced to this Christian system of healing through prayer.

I can walk , run, swim, climb mountains, and play tennis again, and I am so grateful for this freedom of activity. Through my reliance on Christian Science for healing, my body is functioning normally and my spirit is soaring! The substance of my being is spiritual.
