Testimonies of Healing
With a heart full of gratitude, I would like to share a recent healing. Last year in March, I woke up one Saturday at midnight with severe symptoms of indigestion.
I had a healing a few years ago, which I wanted to share by writing it up. Days went by and I had not written the testimony.
A number of years ago, for no apparent reason I started experiencing acute sleeplessness. Whereas in the past I could fall asleep within minutes, suddenly it took several hours to fall sleep.
A little over a year ago, I was sitting on the lounge (couch) one evening about to listen by phone to the Wednesday testimony meeting of my branch Church of Christ, Scientist, when I felt I was losing consciousness. I was very fearful because I couldn’t hold my head up and needed the lounge to support it.
The first verse of the Bible, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth,” in Genesis 1 , lays the foundation for the truth that Christ Jesus taught his followers, which he demonstrated by healing all kinds of diseases, and ultimately proved by his resurrection. Mary Baker Eddy discovered the Science behind the Master’s words and works, and faithfully recorded her discovery so that anyone can, through study and persistent effort, prove in their own experience the goodness of God, who is all Life.
Since I had grown up in Christian Science, it was normal for me to expect healing. And I have experienced healings of all kinds, from toothaches to a badly injured arm to hypothyroidism (see Christian Science Sentinel, December 3, 2012 , and The Christian Science Journal , July 2018 ).
“Every mortal at some period, here or hereafter, must grapple with and overcome the mortal belief in a power opposed to God,” says Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures ( p. 569 ).
A fun house mirror is designed to distort a viewer’s appearance, presenting a humorously skewed reflection that elicits laughter. But do these make us hasten to find a regular mirror to see if our faces, torsos, and appendages actually have become comically stretched or hilariously condensed? Hardly.
My husband and I were living abroad while he was doing research and I was studying in a translator’s program. During this time, we were delighted to learn that we were going to have a baby.
Several years ago , in the course of a few days, my ankles and feet became swollen and were in severe pain. It was a struggle to stand and move even using a walker.
