We are pleased to learn that there is an American Society for Psychical Research formed in Boston on the plan of the English Society, whose purpose is to systematically investigate certain mental phenomena—the transference of mental images from one person to another, whether or not mind reading is possible, etc., etc. Doubtless the well known names of the doctors and professors who are enlisted in the undertaking, will help to establish in the minds of the incredulous those facts which Christian Scientists have been demonstrating for the last fifteen years, viz., that thoughts are not only transferent from mind to mind, but that thoughts form bodily conditions. The step taken by these thinkers will lead them to the tardy confession that "all is mind," and must eventually help to exclude from active participation in making up decisions that element which places every manifestation not scientifically explained to the credit of "departed spirits."
