Poems

ACROSTIC

From the February 1887 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian! how charming the name !
How tender, how sweet and sublime !
Rejoicing all those who would gain
In knowledge and wisdom divine.
Sincerely and truly must all
Truth's bright, shining pathway pursue
Into the pure haven of rest.

Science of Life, Truth and Love,
Continue thy blessings to bring,
Inspiring us all from above.
Evermore thy praises to sing.
New beauties in thee doth appear,
Coming down from thy heavenly abode,
Ever proving the truth of our God.

Journal of unmeasured worth,
On wings of the heavenly Dove,
Unto the ends of the earth
Repeat the good gospel of Love :
Nor falter in thy chosen way.
Angels thy mission sustain;
Light to earth's dark ones convey.
