About a year ago, I was persuaded to try Christian Science for deafness of over twenty-five years' standing, which was gradually growing worse. Experts told me the drum of the right ear was destroyed and that of the left was also affected; I could not hear ordinary conversation, and at times was almost totally deaf.
With no understanding and as little faith, in Christian Science, I began taking treatment. After three months, I could hear ordinary conversation and now hear as well as the average person. So incredulous was I when I began going to the pracitioner that I rather begrudged the time I knew would be consumed there, but I soon found myself looking forward to the visits with more and more pleasure. Through the pracitioner's loving, gentle way of imparting this new truth to me in her talks at each visit, I felt I was being lifted out of an abyss. Old habits of years' standing were destroyed without the knowledge of my practitioner, for I had not mentioned to her the existence of these habits, which were soon revealed to me as the result of "false appetities." I have not taken a drop of medicine for over a year and have been perfectly free from all aches and pains.
The physical healing was nothing when compared with the light that came to my darkened sense, and words are inadequated to express my gratitued for all that Christian Science has done for me. I feel that I cannot postpone telling of the great benefits I have derived therefrom.
