I accepted Christian Science through my physical healing, which to me was such a wonderful thing that I send an account of it for publication, hoping it may benefit some one else. For four years I suffered greatly from nervous prostration, stomach trouble, and other ills which made my life miserable. I tried all kinds of doctors and patent medicines, but with no permanent benefit. I would seem to be getting better; then, without any apparent cause, would have a relapse, and I would be months getting back. I went on in this way until about a year ago when a new ailment presented itself,— something which we were very much afraid would develop into a cancer. The doctor said that all I could do was to wait, but if it grew larger I must consent to an operation. The physical pain, the fear and despair were terrible, but God spoke to me in that dark hour, and I turned to Christian Science and was healed in four weeks, of the trouble which I had so greatly feared and dreaded. One trouble after another left me, and to-day I am perfectly well. During my healing I laid aside my glasses which I had worn for years, and have never had them on since.
Greater than all this, however, is the spiritual uplifting which I have received, and the knowledge that God is Love, and that we are truly His children. My heart is full of gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for what she has done for me and mine, and to our practitioner for the wisdom and patience which he displayed in leading me from the darkness into the light.
