Three years ago last February Christian Science found me a complete wreck. Although the first treatment I took relieved me of the appetite for alcoholic liquors, I continued the treatment for three weeks, and immediately began the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
The chapter of this book that I read first was the one entitled "Genesis," and from this I learned the difference between the, real and the unreal creation, and this furnished me with the first logical explanation of the Bible I had ever heard. At the expiration of six months' study of this book I was healed of Bright's disease, which had compelled me to sit in a rocking-chair many nights on account of severe pain in my back when lying down. The tobacco habit, to which I had been a slave for twenty years, also disappeared about this time.
My family has also been the recipient of many blessings through Christian Science. Scarlet fever has been destroyed in four hours' time, leaving no sign or manifestation whatever, and many other troubles have been as quickly reduced to their native nothingness. We have found that Christian Science meets all our needs, and while the physical benefits have been great, they are as nothing when compared to the spiritual uplifting which has come to us through the study of the Bible and Science and Health. We were also much benefited in receiving class instruction. I hope that this word of testimony will aid others in their efforts to destroy the dragon doubt, and convince them of the healing power of Christian Science. I am deeply grateful for all it has done for me.
