Testimonies of Healing

Having had innumerable proofs of the accuracy of Christian Science,...

From the July 1904 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Having had innumerable proofs of the accuracy of Christian Science, it is almost impossible to approach the subject without being tempted to write indefinitely. Words but faintly express my gratitude to God for the illumination of the Bible that has come to me through the writings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker G. Eddy. Every day I am more thankful that I have even a little understanding of this religion, Christian Science.

During the first two years of my reading of Science and Health, I received no practical help in regard to healing because I did not perceive the underlying Principle. Though many of the thoughts appealed to me as being beautiful, interest gradually waned, until later on in taking up the subject, the thought of Principle was made clear. Then came an opportunity for its application, and this was followed by scientific results, which were satisfactory proof to myself that Christian Science is the truth.

It seems so natural to compare daily life in Science, with the old school days. I look back and think of the problems in arithmetic and I know that when I did my examples incorrectly, it never occurred to me to blame the science of numbers. I simply had to go over the work and do it correctly before I could go higher. So when I fail to do my work satisfactorily now, I know that Christian Science is not at fault, and the remedy is to correct my thought.
