I am truly very grateful for what Christian Science has done for me. For three long years I suffered day and night with severe pain in my back, and with cramps in my stomach. My trouble was caused by a railroad accident. I was treated by three doctors during that time; they did all they could for me, but I kept growing worse, and the doctors finally told my sister I could live but a short time.
It was then I concluded to try Christian Science. The doctors had forbidden me to eat any kind of fruit, and potatoes were the only vegetables I was allowed to eat. After my first treatment I could eat all the fruit and vegetables I wished and it never hurt me. My back was healed the first treatment but I continued my treatments for some time before I could realize the truth and what God had done for me.
I cannot tell how many times I was taken home in a carriage or wagon from down town, by some of my friends. Some of them have told me since then they thought each time they took me home that it would be my last trip. Now they are all astonished at the change in my appearance, and ask me what I am doing that makes me look so well. I can do more work now than I could before I was hurt. Since I was healed we have not had a doctor in our house. If we had not had Science and Health in our house we would have had to call in a doctor for the ailments of our children.
