I would like to state briefly my own experience as evidence that Christian Science healing is permanent. I was afflicted for sixteen years with many maladies, so much so that life was indeed a burden. During this time I was treated successively by eminent physicians of Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and Providence, also by three noted surgeons.
I wore glasses for twelve years for malformation of the eyes, and to show how abnormal was my vision, I would say, that when taking off my glasses for treatment in Christian Science, I could not tell a man from a woman when passing them on the street; I simply saw a body in motion.
Every form of treatment that materia medica could sugest was undergone, even to burning of the spine, in addition to several surgical operations. At one time I was under the knife for six hours. I speak of this to show how radical the work done by the surgeons seemed to be.
