It is with deep gratitude to God, that I send my testimony. This Christ healing came to me over four years ago when I was most wonderfully restored to health, after having suffered many years from several chronic diseases. According to the testimony of many doctors, including several noted specialists by whom I had been treated, there was no help for me. For several months I was away from home under an eminent physician who said I had but two years to live at the longest.
In the mean time I had tried many patent medicines, had resorted to the sanitarium foods especially prepared for invalids, not being able to eat the solid foods, but I continued to grow worse. I was an invalid, did not walk about my own home farther at times than to get into a chair, and then back to the couch. I was in the last stage of female disease of about five years' standing, had chronic constipation of fifteen years' standing, dyspepsia, gastric derangement, and repeated attacks of nervous prostration from which I was a nervous wreck. I could not have been worse had I been in a prison bound with chains, such was the seeming physical condition.
I heard of Christian Science through a very dear lady, who loaned me Science and Health and some other literature of Christian Science. I read our text-book through before going to a practitioner for treatment, and was convinced that I had found the truth, and felt I should be made well. In a week's treatment by one of Mrs. Eddy's students, I was lifted out of the pit of suffering and despair, up on to the rock, Christ, and through the understanding of Christian Science I have continued in health ever since. Surely God works to-day, as of old, His wonders to perform. My extremity was indeed God's opportunity.
