ANNUAL MEETING OF CONCORD CHURCH

From the February 1906 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The annual meeting of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Concord, N. H., was held last evening in the church edifice. The presence of several members living out of Concord showed the deep interest taken in this meeting. The treasurer reported all bills paid and a balance in the treasury. The report of the chairman of the Reading Room showed over sixteen hundred pieces of literature sold and more than five thousand visitors to the Reading Room and church. The absorbing interest in the subject of Christian Science was shown in the report of the committee on free distribution of literature. The record indicated that more than seven thousand pieces of reading matter had been taken by visitors and inquirers during the past twelve months.

Religious services are regularly held by the church in the county jail, and much good is being accomplished with the prisoners. During the past twelve months the members, in addition to the generous support of the home church, have contributed twenty-one hundred dollars to the Building Fund of the addition to The Mother Church in Boston.

The term of office of the former Readers, Rev. Irving C. Tomlinson, C.S.B., and Miss Mary E. Tomlinson, C.S., having expired, Prof. Hermann S. Hering, C.S.B., of Boston, was elected First Reader and Miss Mabel C. Gage, C.S., of Concord, was made Second Reader.
