It is about a year since I became interested in Christian Science. For a year and a half previous to that time I was altogether miserable and unhappy. Nov. 12, 1905, I chanced to visit First Church of Christ, Scientist, St. Louis, and at the conclusion of the service I felt so uplifted and hopeful that I seemed to realize Christian Science could restore my sight, for I had lost the sight of my left eye entirely and that of the right eye was greatly impaired. During the previous year and a half I had been treated by four specialists, and the last one consulted said that there was no hope for the restoration of my sight, as it was entirely destroyed; but in just twelve days from my first treatment in Christian Science I could read perfectly with this eye, and without glasses. I shall never forget Thanksgiving Day, 1905; for it was on that day that I read a passage from Science and Health with my left eye alone. Surely I was more than thankful on that glad day; and as time passes, I become more and more grateful and thankful to God for His good gifts. I feel that I owe much to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the understanding that I have gained through the study of her books, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and "Miscellaneous Writings."— St. Louis, Mo.
