There came to me a vision of the world
Governed by good, illumined by the light
Of harmony and by the radiance of Truth!
There through melodious space the sons of God
Circled in beauty, and in bliss
From star to star—from golden land to land.
There blossomed lilies—blossoms deathless and divine!
There all was energy, yet all was peace!
Lo, man reflected Love, and realized
Creation as the pure idea of Mind.
Oh, then did rapture over rapture rise,
And music melted into music sweet,
Color flashed into color—and I knew
The perfume of a universal joy
Bathed all this lovely world with warmth and light!
Then came to me the inner voice of Truth—
"This is no vision of a heaven to be!
It lies within the consciousness of Life,
The full reflection of the only Mind!
Up—slay the lie of matter with the sword
Of Spirit—voice the allness of thy God,
The nothingness of discord and of death!
And rise with Christ above the clouds of sense,
That seem to veil God's everlasting calm,
And now and ever dwell in harmony!"
