I feel so grateful for what Christian Science has done for me that I can no longer withhold my testimony, that others who suffer may be benefited also. A little over two years ago I became interested in Christian Science by attending one of the lectures given here in Providence. I was much impressed; I knew that this truth was what I needed, because the speaker him self had been healed of an incurable disease, so called. I knew this gentleman was not deceiving himself, for if we live according to our Master's teaching we may all come to God and find Life. I can truly say I am now filled with joy, with happiness, with contentment, whereas I had been a miserable woman, suffering terribly from different complaints. For six years I had worn a double truss, specially made and fitted to me, and previous to this I had for nine years worn two others, which caused me great distress. The doctors told me I would have to wear one as long as I lived, but thank God the time came when I could be free, and since that lecture I have never used this appliance and feel well and strong. I then began to search more for this healing truth, and I have found it. All my life I had suffered from stomach trouble and hardly knew a well day on account of headaches. I used different kinds of medicine, but nothing brought relief. Now I do not wonder at this, because I was trusting matter instead of Spirit. Other ailments, too numerous to mention, have been overcome. I also had worn glasses, but now I do not use them at all, having no trouble in reading or sewing.
I have had no treatments; I simply gave myself into God's hands entirely; read Science and Health, studied the Bible and our text-book together, and from the understanding of the Scriptures thus gained the healing seemed to come very quickly. I daily pray for more of this truth, and it comes to me by earnest seeking. My heart goes out to God, and to our dear Leader, who has shown us the way out of suffering into health, out of misery into happiness.
