Having successfully tried Christian Science treatment for my little boy, who had a skin disease about eighteen months ago, we concluded to give it as fair a chance when my baby was born in August, 1908. I employed a Christian Science practitioner of this city, but did not engage a doctor at all, believing it unnecessary; and so it proved. I wrote to my husband within an hour of the birth, informing him of the wonderful demonstration. I was up the same day, and the third day helped with the regular housework. My neighbors were very much impressed, though some of them prophesied dire results; but these never took place.
We are very grateful to God, divine Love, for this proof that, through the understanding our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, has given us, we have the ability to realize that matter has no power to make us suffer; especially since on a similar occasion, when I was ignorant of Christian Science, I suffered very severely and instruments had to be used.
