Before becoming interested in Christian Science I was never well. I suffered almost constantly from headache; in fact, I could not remember a day in my life when I had been free from it, and for a long time I had severe attacks every few days. I had been treated for this trouble by several physicians, but found almost no relief until I turned to Christian Science for help, and I have been healed of this and numerous other ills through this truth. At one time I had an acute attack of rheumatism. After suffering for some days I awoke one morning and found that I was unable to arise. A practitioner was called upon for help. She gave me absent treatment the first day and the next morning called to see me. Although I was much improved I was still unable to stand on my feet. The practitioner stayed with me for about fifteen minutes and during that time I was perfectly .healed. I put on my shoes and buttoned them, when only a short time before my feet and ankles had been so badly swollen that this would have been impossible. I was on my feet the greater part of the day and suffered no inconvenience whatever. Before I became interested in Christian Science I had had a similar attack, which kept me for some weeks under the care of a physician, and each succeeding winter I had a slight return of the trouble. My healing through Christian Science took place over seven years ago and has been permanent.
I am indeed grateful for both the physical healing and the spiritual awakening which I have received, but I am especially grateful because I have learned through the teachings of our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, that God is divine Principle and that this Principle is "equal to every emergency" (Science and Health, p. 406). This knowledge has brought to me the "peace of God, which passeth all understanding." —Groton, Conn.
