It was over two years ago that a case of sickness came under my notice which was overcome by Christian Science, quite a new thing in our home. My brother fell into a troublesome condition with his throat, which was. badly inflamed. When eating, he found great difficulty in swallowing, and it was pitiful to hear him talk. This caused great distress and anxiety to us all, fear of the law being the prevailing element; and that alone was enough to hinder any one from making progress. Finally, we came to the conclusion that some outside help must be sought, and we proposed a doctor; but fortunately my brother would not hear of this, so we decided to put him under the care of a Christian Scientist. I took him to the house of the practitioner in the morning, explained what I thought was needed, and then went to my work. When I returned home at night I was informed by my mother that my brother had gone to rest after coming home, and had declared he was healed. On the following morning, I am delighted to say, I could see that he was healed, as there were practically none of the old symptoms left; and in the course of a few days he returned to his work.
As soon as this healing took place, fear and all discordant conditions disappeared in the family. On behalf of my mother and the others, I would say that we are very thankful to God for Christian Science, and for the peace and happiness which it has brought into our home; and to the stranger I would say that this particular proof of the power of Truth has given me great confidence that error can be overcome when a case is placed in the hands of an honest, faithful student of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. — St. Albans, Christchurch, New Zealand.
