From early childhood I had suffered with stomach trouble. As I grew older this, and other ills which had appeared, increased in severity, so that I was a most irritable and unhappy girl up to the age of seventeen. At that time I was forced to give up my studies and have medical treatment. Though I was kept on the lightest of diets for six months, I steadily grew worse, and was finally preparing to go to the hospital to be operated on for appendicitis,—a new development,—when Christian Science was brought to my notice. Consequently I did not have the operation, but with treatment in Christian Science I was entirely healed in two weeks, and back at my studies.

More than twelve years have passed since my healing, and they have been years of rejoicing, for I have seen myself grow to a strong, healthy woman. Rheumatism, scarlet fever, a throat affection, and headache, in fact every ill that has tried to manifest itself, have been met and mastered by the might of Mind. I have never once had a desire to turn back to material remedies, because I have conclusive evidence that what God cannot do, man need not attempt.—
