It is with gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me that I send this testimony. I was what the doctors called a broken-down nurse, as I suffered from sleeplessness, chronic stomach trouble, nervousness, and at times was conscious of a great sense of weakness. I was obliged to give up my work, so I left Boston for California, thinking that the change would help me. I was dieting or fasting much of the time, and had to take an opiate to get a few successive hours' sleep. At the end of four months I was still consulting doctors, as I had gained very little by the change.
I had just begun to take another course of treatment from a doctor, when a friend gave me a copy of Science and Health. After reading this book for a few days, I was able to see that what I needed was a better understanding of God. I knew that I could be healed, and I also knew I had found that which satisfies. I was not only healed of the above named troubles, but I have also been freed from the desire to criticize.
I can truthfully say that I never knew what real happiness was until I became interested in Christian Science. I now enjoy perfect health. I am thankful to God for all the good that has come into my life, and my one desire is to be a faithful follower of our dear Leader.— Riverdale, N. Y.
