I send this testimony as a small expression of my gratitude for the help I have received from the testimonies and articles in the Journal and Sentinel, also for the daily benefit derived from studying the Lesson-Sermons and from reading the works of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
My first reading of Science and Health healed me of a long-standing case of neuralgia, and by the understanding into which I have gradually grown I have been able to destroy many forms of error as they have been manifested by different members of my family, such as toothache, ingrowing nail, accidents, burns, poison, etc. A burn on my little girl's leg was healed through the reading of a few pages from Science and Health. 'The child screamed so that I could not think clearly, but after I had read a short time, she said, "Mama, let me see the words that heal me." My eyes fell on the words, "God is Love," and she immediately sprang up and sat down on the floor to play with the other children, with the burned leg doubled up under her. The place was not even dressed, but it did not blister, and in a week's time there was no sign of the accident. A nail which pierced the foot of another child was withdrawn, with no loss of blood. When she screamed, I ran to her, declaring the all-power and presence of God. There was no inflammation or soreness and the accident was never noticed by any one; it was as though it had never been.
I have had help in other cases from practitioners, and have many things yet to overcome, but I know that Truth is always victorious if we are only faithful. I have had many dark days and some defeats as well as victories. I am happy to say, however, that each healing mentioned is permanent. It is now ten years since my healing of neuralgia, and I have never had any return of it. My husband used to have bilious attacks, but it is now eight years since he has had even a symptom of the old disorder.
