In many ways I have tried to show my thankfulness to God for Christian Science, but I have neglected to send my testimony for publication. Now I wish to tell of some of the ills from which I have been freed. Two attacks of acute rheumatism were overcome in two weeks by the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and I was speedily healed of a strained back, of shingles, and of illness due to contact with poison-oak. Although the shingles annoyed me, I went about as usual, and some of the family were not aware that I had any physical ailment. What seemed the worst difficulty, and that for which I first took treatment, was stomach disorder of many years' standing, for which physicians gave me no relief. This was soon cured under Christian Science treatment so that now I am able to eat any food I wish without suffering at all.
For all these and many other healings I am very thankful, but I cannot imagine how I could get along without Christian Science in my daily life, as it is a religion to which one can turn for the solution of all problems. I used to conceive of man as being created by God, then left to himself, and so entirely separate from his Maker; but now I think of him as being continually unfolded, because he is the reflection of God and nothing else, and so he, the spiritual man, is perfect continually. This makes it plain to me how Jesus could say of Jairus' daughter, "She is not dead." How could she who reflected God, Life, be dead?
