[Written for the Journal]

A LITTLE WHILE!

From the February 1915 issue of The Christian Science Journal

'Tis but a little while, and I shall know
Whereto Thy gentle hand is leading me.
With joyous, willing footsteps I shall go
To meet each task, for there I shall meet Thee.

In just a little while these murmurings low
Shall turn to sweetest praises of Thy name.
The hidden meaning of each seeming throe
Shall Truth's most precious victory acclaim.

Yes, but a little while, and darkest dawn
Will break into the glorious light of day,
And from my heart shall flow eternal song,
That Thou hast been and art with me alway.

And onward I shall walk with winged feet,
My hand in Thine, Thy arm about me pressed,
And count all sacrifice but joy to meet,
For therefrom do I know that I am blessed.

Though slowly up the mountain I may go,
Though steep and rugged ofttimes seems the way,
I shall press on through Love's eternal glow,
And on the summit greet Thine opening day.
