In the spring of 1910 I became conscious of an enlargement in my breast, and it seemed to be attached, which was a most unfavorable symptom. This lasted for six weeks, during which time there was in my home a trained nurse, who so filled me with fear over the outcome of a consultation with a physician, that despite my suffering I would put off this interview from day to day. I had reached a point where it was impossible to walk or even turn the key in a door without suffering severe pain. Finally my condition became so alarming that the nurse herself went to a physician and put my case before him. He sent word to me to have the growth removed at once. On the advice of my husband, who had been interested in Christian Science for some time, I consulted a practitioner and met with an instantaneous healing, the pain leaving me at once, although there was evidence of the growth for about three weeks. There has never been a recurrence of the trouble, and I feel sure there never will be, because of the understanding I have gained through study.
