Testimonies of Healing

With a deep sense of gratitude I...

From the April 1915 issue of The Christian Science Journal

With a deep sense of gratitude I give this testimony of the healing work done through Christian Science for a seriously injured arm. In October,1912, while in a New York store transacting some business, I fell on a highly polished floor, striking on my right elbow. I was assisted to a chair, and for a time seemed dazed. I tried to repeat "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p.468), but could not remember any of it except "God is All-in-all." After a few minutes I was able to call over a telephone to a Christian Science practitioner for help. I then started for home. At bedtime my wife read to me from the Bible and Science and Health, and I went to sleep and did not waken till morning. I slept and rested well every night.

I did not know the precise nature of the injury until about three weeks later, when I was calling on a customer who was a physician and surgeon, and he requested me to show him my arm. He said it had been broken at the elbow and that it would never be straight, but it is now normal and as strong as ever. No splints or bandages were put on it, nor were any material means used.

I am grateful for this healing, as well as for the many other blessings I have been privileged to receive through Christian Science.—
