As I have sat a guest at the monthly and weekly feasts supplied us by the Journal and the Sentinel, I have always gained a sense of being fed and blessed, but strangely enough have never had the grace to express a written "thank you" for the bounties received.
Over twenty years ago Christian Science came into our family through a remarkable case of healing, and as a young girl I received as a matter of course the many blessings which came from this changed viewpoint and was certainly wonderfully blessed. I married, and reared a family of children without the fears and weight of care that mothers usually have. With Christian Science as our only physician our home has witnessed countless healings of all manner of sickness. The power of Truth as a protection from danger and a prevention of sickness has been proved to us over and over again.
I wish, however, to speak of a healing that is more important to me than any of the physical benefits. With a large household and many duties I was always oppressed by a sense of feeling too busy, always breathless and hurried, with a great array of things waiting to be done constantly before me. Whenever asked to help in church work I refused, thinking it was sufficient if I looked after my own family's spiritual welfare. With reluctance and under great stress, however, a small part of the work in our church was finally undertaken. As it meant the giving of an hour or two each day and a good part of Sunday, it was hard to see how I could spare the time from my already full program.
