It is about fifteen years since I first heard of Christian Science and attended a Wednesday evening meeting. Although I understood but little English at that time, yet I felt much uplifted spiritually, which goes to show that the real language is spiritual. Slowly, step by step, I gained in understanding, and thereby experienced healing in various ways, for which I am grateful indeed.
I should like to tell of an instance which made me realize very clearly the omnipotence of God, divine Love. When my eldest boy went to school the first year, I was notified that lie needed medical treatment, and as I did not take steps at once in compliance with this request, the school authorities informed me that my child was afflicted with a tubercular disease and positively must be put under medical care. I had been studying Christian Science for several years, but this was my first severe test, and with God's help the truth prevailed, for which glory be to Him! I did not take the child to a physician, but relied implicitly on God's help, as we are taught to do by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. Although symptoms manifested themselves which seemed to frighten mortal sense, they were superseded by the understanding of spiritual being and the power of Truth. One year later the boy upon being examined was declared to be cured. This case, which occurred six years ago, has furnished our whole family with the impetus for work, and thereby has been turned into a blessing.
