During the years that I have known of Christian Science, many blessings have been received, and for some time my desire has been to express my gratitude through the Journal or Sentinel for the joy that this beautiful truth has brought me. It has healed me of chronic melancholy, and has lifted me out of a sinful life and a desire to die, giving me instead a desire to live in loving service to God and to my fellow man. On one occasion, while declaring the truth for a patient, I realized that the hearing in my right ear, which had been imperfect as far back as I can remember, was restored. It would be impossible for me to mention all, or even a part, of the benefits which have come to me through Christian Science. Since I have been giving all my time to this work, blessings innumerable have been showered upon me.
I am grateful because when I first saw the light, the truth dawned upon me immediately, and I at once obtained a copy of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and began to study it faithfully. Never for a moment have I had even a shadow of a doubt that Christian Science was indeed the way. Deep gratitude is also felt for the new understanding of prayer which has come to me. Before coming into Science I was buried in books of philosophy, history, and ancient literature, and was so selfish and peculiar in my ways that I had made but few friends, if any, while now I have many true friends. I am thankful to God and grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her unselfish life and work.—Jacksonville, Fla.
